Cascaden Model of the Cascaden
Model of the Cascaden wreck located in the St. Edmunds Museum at 7072 Hwy #6.
Model built by Stan McClellan.

Name: Cascaden - schooner
Built: 1866
Length:
Sunk: 1871
Depth: 20 feet maximum
Rating: Novice
Description: In October 1871, the Cascaden was bound for the Cove Island Lighthouse with a cargo of supplies for the lighthouse keeper and his family who were in desperate straits.

This 138 ton schooner was wrecked during a gale on the shoals of Cape Hurd. Today it is badly broken up and scattered over a wide area (including the shoreline). This wreck is rarely dived since there is no central location and it parts are scattered over dangerously shallow shoals.
